Oppenheimer bags multiple Oscars

The Oscars, also referred to as the Academy Awards, is a merit based award for the film industry that is presented annually. Hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), these award are in recognition of cinematic brilliance as determined by the organization’s voting members.

The maiden Academy Awards was in 1929, and it is the oldest entertainment award event globally. This year, the 96th Academy Awards (Oscars) held on March 10 2024 to honor movies released in 2023 and the Oppenheimer movie won about 5 awards.

The categories include best actor in a leading role (Cillian Murphy), best actor in a supporting role (Robert Downey Jr.), best cinematography (Oppenheimer – Hoyte van Hoytema), best directing (Christopher Nolan), and best film editing (Oppenheimer – Jennifer Lame).

In July 2023, Incognito Blog wrote about Oppenheimer (the father of the atomic bomb), and the potential backlash the movie could stir up, apparently that was not the case. For a comprehensive list of all the Academy Award winners, visit the official website, here.
