India: 3,272 kg of Narcotics Seized

Gujarat is a western state in the Republic of India. It is the fifth-largest Indian state by area, covering 75,685 sq mi, with a population of 60.4 million residents as of 2011. A major drug bust has resulted in the seizure of 3,272kg of narcotics off the Gujarat coast near the International Maritime Boundary Line in the Arabian Sea.

The operation was carried out by a joint effort of the Indian Navy and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). The drugs confiscated were 3,089kg of charas, 158kg of methamphetamine, and 25kg of morphine. 5 crew members were arrested and the report further states that this is the largest drug bust in terms of quantity in the country.
