United States Army to Cut 24,000 Jobs

The United States Army is the ground warfare division of the United States Armed Forces. It is one of the three military departments of the Department of Defense, and it originated from the Continental Army that was formed in 1775 to fight against the British during the American Revolutionary War.

The combined strength of the US Army is reportedly over 1 million soldiers as of 2022.

According to recent reports, the United States Army plans to cut about 24,000 positions including roles that were already vacant. The report by Forbes further mentions that the restructuring plan will be over the next decade. The goal of the initiative is to supposedly increase the number of active duty soldiers to 470,000 from about 445,000.

It is important to note that soldiers would not be asked to leave the service.
