Macy’s to Close 150 Stores

In January 2024, Incognito Blog reported the layoff affecting over 2,000 Macy’s employees, in a restructuring initiative aimed at improving customers shopping experience. In addition to the workforce reduction, the US departmental store is looking to close about 150 underperforming stores.

According to recent reports, Macy’s will close down 50 store by the end of 2024 and 100 more over the next few years. The report further mentions that Macy’s will update its brand appearance as the company plans to focus on its more prominent Bloomingdale and Bluemercury divisions.
