On February 19 2024, Incognito Blog reported the launch of a spacecraft named Odie to the moon by Intuitive Machines, a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) backed aerospace company. As reported by CNN, Odie (Odysseus) landed on the moon at approximately 6:24pm EST on Thursday, February 22, 2024.
The report further mentions that Intuitive Machines CEO announced that the lunar lander is successfully transmitting data back to earth from the lunar surface. This is a prestigious achievement for the United States, as they have attempted to return to the moon since the apollo mission in 1969.
Odie is an unmanned moon lander that is currently on an observatory mission on the moon, in preparation for NASA’s manned mission later in the decade.
