Walmart To Acquire Vizio

Walmart Inc. is a multinational retail corporation that operates a chain of hypermarkets, also called supercenters. It was founded in 1962 and is headquartered in Arkansas, USA. Walmart is the world’s largest company by revenue, as of 2022, and boasts of 10,586 stores in 24 countries.

Vizio is a publicly traded electronics company, formerly known as V Inc. The company primarily designs and sells televisions, as well as soundbars, and advertisement services. It was founded in 2002 with its headquarters in California, USA. According to reports, Walmart has announced plans to acquire Vizio for $2.3 billion USD.

The acquisition of Vizio and it’s SmartCast Operating System will enable Walmart to boost its advertising business and offer its customers a broad variety of television, and in-home entertainment. The report further mentions that Vizio’s SmartCast Operating System currently boasts of over 18 million active users.

This deal is subject to regulatory review and can supposedly be terminated if Vizio receives a higher offer within 45 days of Walmart’s.
