Intuitive Machines Inc. is an aerospace company founded in 2013 with its headquarters in Texas, USA. The company boasts of lunar payload delivery contracts with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and specializes in the development of Universal Reentry Vehicles (URV), and flight instrument systems.
According to recent reports, Intuitive Machines launched a moon lander named ‘Odie’ on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from NASA’s Space Center in Florida. Odie was sent to the moon for exploratory purposes, as NASA plans to send a manned spacecraft to the moon later in the decade.
This mission is the second US launch to the moon this year. In January 2024, Incognito Blog reported the Peregrine lander’s attempt that was cut short due to a malfunction in the propulsion system of the spacecraft. Odie is supposed to touchdown on February 22 2024.
