Grammarly is a cloud-based typing assistant and plagiarism detector that was initially released as a tool to assist university students with their English skills. The editor reviews spelling, grammar, punctuation, and other mistakes in English texts. It was designed by Grammarly Inc. in 2009 with its headquarters in San Francisco, USA.
According to reports, Grammarly will lay off 230 employees in a restructuring initiative aimed towards fostering an AI-enabled workspace and improving the quality of collaboration among teams. Affected employees will receive 3 month severance benefits during this period.
