Tesla has issued a recall of 2,193,869 vehicles due to small font sizes on warning panels that could increase the risk of a crash. According to the notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), an incorrect font size is displayed on the instrument panel for the Brake, Park, and Antilock Brake System (ABS) warning lights, which fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety standards.
The vehicles affected include Tesla Model S, Model X, Model 3, Model Y, and the Tesla Cybertruck sold between 2012 and 2024. Tesla has released a free over-the-air (OTA) software update, with notification letters scheduled to be sent to affected owners in March 2024. The report further mentions that Tesla is not aware of any injuries or crashes and estimates that 100% of the listed vehicles are affected.
In January 2024, Incognito Blog reported the recall of about 200,000 Tesla vehicles.
