Saudi Arabia, officially referred to as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), is the largest country in the Middle East. It boasts of over 32 million residents as of 2022, and is bordered by the Red Sea, Jordan, Iraq, Kuwait, Persian Gulf, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Yemen.
Saudi Arabia is home to Islam’s holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
According to CNN, Saudi Arabia Railways and Arsenale Group, an Italian hospitality corporation, have entered into an agreement to develop the first luxury train in the region, Dream of the Desert. This train deal supposedly costs about $53.3 million USD (200 million Saudi Riyals) and is set to begin operations in 2025.
The Dream of the Desert luxury train will cover a 1,300 kilometer route from Riyadh to Qurayyat, coasting along the beautiful Saudi Arabian desert. The train will supposedly consist of 40 luxury cabins and its maximum occupancy is capped at 82 passengers.
