UPS To Layoff 12,000

United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS), originally known as the American Messenger Company, is a multinational shipping, receiving, and supply chain management company founded in 1907. UPS is one of the world’s largest shipping couriers and is headquartered in Sandy Springs, Georgia.

According to recent reports, UPS has announced plans to lay off 12,000 of its global workforce, citing macroeconomic conditions that led to a restructuring initiative aimed at saving the company about $1 billion USD. This comes after the company recorded a decline in revenue of more than $9 billion over the years.
