Icon of The Seas: World’s Largest Cruise Ship

The Icon of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world and it has supposedly set sail from Miami. The cruise ship is owned by the Royal Caribbean Group, the second largest cruise line operator in the world. Royal Caribbean Group, formerly referred to as Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd, is a cruise holding company that was founded in 1997, with its headquarters in Miami, Florida.

According to BBC, the Icon of the Seas is 1,197 ft long, boasts of about 20 decks, and has the capacity to contain a maximum of 7,500 passengers. The cruise ship was reportedly built with a significant $2 billion USD, with some additional features including 7 swimming pools, 6 water slides, over 40 restaurants, bars and lounges.

The Icon of the Seas will be sailing through the Caribbean for 7 days, exploring various islands. The report further mentions environmental concerns due to the methane emission from the ship.
