Tesla has issued a recall of 199,575 vehicles due to a software glitch that may prevent the rearview camera from displaying. According to the notice from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles will have a blank display when entering reverse, which may affect the driver’s visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
The affected models include: TESLA Model S, X, and Y produced in 2023. Tesla has released a free over-the-air (OTA) software update, with notification letters scheduled to be sent to affected owners in March. The report further mentions that Tesla is not aware of any injuries, deaths, or crashes and estimates that 100% of the listed vehicles are defective.
