Microsoft, the multinational technology company, has announced its plans to lay off 1,900 employees in its gaming divisions, Activision Blizzard and Xbox. The layoff is a result of a strategic measure aimed at establishing a cost-effective structure following the $68.7 billion USD acquisition of Activision Blizzard in 2023.
The president of Blizzard, as well as the Chief Design Officer, also announced that they will step down following the round of layoffs. Affected employees will receive severance benefits during this transition.
This comes days after Incognito Blog reported the layoff at Riot Games.
