India: The Clamp Down on Crypto

The Financial Intelligence Unit – India (FIU-IND), an agency of India’s Department of Revenue, that is in charge of monitoring and controlling financial activities in the country and tackling offences under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, has increased the clamp down on cryptocurrencies.

The report further mentions that the agency issued a notice to the firms, alleging that their operations are not compliant with India’s anti money laundering policies.

The cryptocurrency mobile applications affected include Binance, Kraken, Huobi, Gate.io, Bittrex, and Bitfinex etc.
