The US Customs and Border Protection and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), have seized over 1.4 million illegal e-cigarettes from overseas manufacturers valued at $18 million USD. This includes the popular Elf Bar vape brand, known for its fruity flavored disposable vapes that has become the top choice among American teens. Other brands seized include Lost Mary, Funky Republic, and EB Create.
The report further mentions that the seizure took place at the Los Angeles International Airport in Q3 2023. Many of the containers were intentionally mislabeled as toys, shoes, and other household items in order to avoid detection by the authorities.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has issued warnings about the health risks associated with vaping, which include nicotine addiction and an increased risk of heart and lung disorders.
