Techstars: $1.44 million African Startup Investment

Techstars is an investment company that provides access to capital, resources, mentorship and technical support for technology driven entrepreneurs and startups. Founded in 2006, the company has supported over 2,900 startups through its accelerator programs. Techstars programs span across Africa, North America, Europe, and the Middle East.

According to Techstars, 12 companies have been selected for the 2023 pan-African accelerator program. This program is in collaboration with ARM Labs, a Nigerian innovation platform. These 12 startups will attend a 14-week program with perks including but not limited to $5 million USD in benefits, $120,000 USD cash funding ($1.44 million USD total), and over $400,000 in hosting, accounting and legal support.

The startups selected for this cohort are 24Seven, Beauty Hut, Eight Medical, GetEquity, JumpnPass, One Plan, PBR Life Sciences, PressOne Africa, Rana, Surge Africa, Swoove, and Veend. The report further mentions that teams will also receive mentorship from leading product and business professionals.
