Honda has issued a recall of about 303,770 vehicles over faulty seatbelts. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall notice caution that some front seat belts have missing pretensioner rivets. A pretensioner is the seat belt component that holds it together if there is an accident, to stop passengers from hitting the windshield.
The vehicles affected are the 2023 – 2024 Honda Accord and 2023 – 2024 Honda HR-V. According to the reports, affected vehicle owners have been advised to inspect the vehicle seatbelts at their local dealership. Honda will directly notify the owners of affected vehicles by mail starting Jan 8 2024.
