Thanksgiving is a day of celebration on the 4th Thursday of November in the USA. Often referred to as American Thanksgiving to differentiate it from the similar events celebrated in Canada and other areas. It originated as a day to give thanks and celebrate the final crop harvest festival in some regions.
This holiday is usually complete with a turkey dinner that is enjoyed together by family and friends. Thanksgiving has been celebrated since 1863 when Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national holiday to give thanks to our Father (God) in heaven.
