Honda has issued a recall of about 248,999 vehicles due to a manufacturing defect that affects the engine crankshaft. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall notice cautions that this flaw may cause the connecting rod bearing to prematurely wear out or seize.
The seizure raises the possibility that the car would operate erratically, stall, or halt, which could result in a collision.
The vehicles affected include the 2015-2020 Acura TLX, 2016-2020 Acura MDX, 2016 Honda Pilot, 2018-2019 Honda Pilot, 2018-2019 Honda Odyssey, 2017 Honda Ridgeline, and 2019 Honda Ridgeline. In March 2023, Incognito Blog also reported the recall of 500,000 vehicles by the Japanese automobile manufacturer.
