Indonesia: $108 Million Floating Solar Plants

PT PLN Nusantara Power is a state-owned power generation company that provides engineering, procurement, and construction services, power plant investments, and power plant operations etc. The company was founded in 1995 with its headquarters in Surabaya, Indonesia.

The President of Indonesia recently announced the launch of a 192 megawatt floating solar plant that was designed and developed by PT PLN Nusantara and Masdar, a renewable energy company located in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The $108 million USD solar plant is floating over a reservoir in the West Java region of Indonesia and can supposedly generate power for about 50,000 homes.

This is reportedly the 3rd largest floating solar plant in the world.
