The Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, commonly referred to as Nepal, is a landlocked country in South Asia. According to CNN’s report, a magnitude 5.6 earthquake that struck the Jajarkot district in northwestern Nepal has resulted in over 157 fatalities, with approximately 170 others injured. Reports suggest that the death toll and number of injured could increase as search and rescue operations are ongoing.
