The Walt Disney Company, which has a majority stake in the platform, announced on November 1, 2023, its intention to buy out Comcast, which currently possesses a 33 percent stake in Hulu. The deal is reportedly valued at $8.6 billion USD and is aimed at giving Disney complete ownership of the popular streaming platform. The acquisition is scheduled for 2024, and looks to enhance Disney’s streaming goals.
