USA: United Auto Workers End Strike

In September 2023, Incognito Blog reported the strike action that was announced by the United Auto Workers (UAW), in relation to their unmet demands from auto manufacturers like Stellantis, Ford and General Motors (GM). Over 50,000 auto workers walked out of their jobs in solidarity during the duration of this strike, costing the 3 auto manufacturers a combined loss of over $1 billion USD.

According to recent reports, the United Auto Workers have supposedly reached an agreement with General Motors, Ford and Stellantis. This deal includes an increase in the hourly wage rate and a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) that aims to protect union workers from rising costs.

The workers are reportedly returning to work within the next few weeks.
