Temilade Openiyi, professionally referred to as Tems, is a songwriter, record producer and singer, born on June 11 1995, in Lagos, Nigeria. Tems officially started her music career in 2018 with the release of her single, Mr Rebel, and since then it has been a series of award-winning vocals.
In 2020, Tems was featured on Wizkid‘s single, Essence, a globally recognized song that earned her a Grammy Award nomination. 2 years later, Tems’ vocals from her single, Higher, was sampled on a song by Future (an American rapper and singer), leading to her first Grammy Award for Best Melodic Rap Performance in 2023.
