Imagine speeding across the ocean at 350 kilometers per hour, suspended above the water on a high-speed train! That’s what passengers will soon be able to do in China’s first overwater bullet train tracks. The project is being built to connect the coastal cities of Fuzhou, Zhangzhou and Xiamen, boasting of 84 bridges and 29 tunnels.
According to recent reports, the first train on this new overwater track completed its initial trip on September 28, from the Fuzhou station. This 277-kilometer-long project is a major engineering feat and is expected to boost economic development in the area.
