Immigration is defined as the international movement of people to a foreign country where they are not citizens or natives, in order to settle as naturalized citizens or permanent residents. Migration can be voluntary or involuntary, the latter includes war refugees, and forced displacement like slave trade, etc.
Seasonal labour immigrants are people who travel to foreign countries for seasonal employment that only takes place during certain periods of the year.
A Million Miles Away is a movie inspired by real life immigrant, engineer and astronaut José, working his way from picking fruits with his family during seasonal employment periods, to being the first of his kind to travel to space. In this movie, José applied to a graduate program at NASA over 10 times, 1 application every year, until he finally got accepted.
As an immigrant and a son of migrant farmers he knew the playing field was not a level ground, so he needed to work extremely hard to achieve such feat.
