India has the largest WhatsApp (the instant messaging application owned by Meta) customer base, boasting of almost 500 million users. The instant messaging platform recently announced a feature that will allow its users in India to complete payments from inside the application.
The TechCrunch report further mentioned that this new payment feature is available to all businesses in India using the WhatsApp Business platform. This was fostered by a partnership between the PayU and Razorpay, to enable in-app payments using credit cards, debit cards etc.
