Generac to Recall 64,000 Generators

Generac Holdings Inc., popularly referred to as Generac, is a manufacturer of backup generators for residential, commercial and industrial markets. The public traded company was founded in 1959 with its headquarters in Wisconsin, USA. With about 6 manufacturing plants in Wisconsin, the company boasts of a revenue of over $2 billion USD as of 2018.

According to recent reports by Generac, about 64,000 units of their portable generators have been recalled by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The affected units are GP15000E, with model numbers G0057341, G0057342, 005734R1, and 005734R2, and GP17500E, with model numbers G0057351, G0057352, 005735R1, and 005735R2.

The report further mentions a faulty fuel tank that poses a fire hazard. Customers have also been advised to stop using the generators immediately and contact the company for a free repair kit.
