Lake Titicaca is a natural water lake that is located in the Andes mountains (longest continental mountain range in the world), along the borders of Bolivia and Peru. This lake is reportedly the largest in South America (by volume of water and surface area), and the highest navigable lake in the world.
The water level in Lake Titicaca is declining at an accelerated rate as a result of an unseasonable winter heat wave, causing a rapid reduction in the lake’s water volume, as reported by CNN.
