Gabonese Republic, popularly known as Gabon, is a country located in Central Africa with an estimated population of 2.3 million people. The country shares a border with Equatorial Guinea to the northwest, Congo to the east and south, Cameroon to the north, and the Gulf of Guinea to the west. According to recent BBC reports, the army in Gabon have announced the cancellation of their recently concluded presidential election, raising concerns of a possible coup in the French colony. The report mentions the closure of their border and the dissolution of all the institutions of the country. The President-elect, Ali Bongo, has been reportedly placed under house arrest following the military takeover.
