Florida: Hurricane Idalia

The American state of Florida was hit with a serious hurricane that has led to multiple accidents, 2 fatalities, and the destruction of properties. Hurricane Idalia is now being reported as a tropical storm. Tarpon Springs, a city located in Florida, USA, has been severely affected as seen in the picture below.

According to reports by CNN, Cedar key, an island in Florida, was also affected by this unfortunate event as seen in the picture below. In April 2023, Incognito Blog reported the flood situation in Fort Lauderdale that saw 600+ residents evacuated. Over 200,000 homes, and other power customers (businesses) in Florida have lost power as of 4 pm EST August 30 2023.

Evacuation orders were declared in 28 regions in Florida namely Alachua, Baker, Citrus, Dixie, Franklin, Gilchrist, Gulf, Hamilton, Hernando, Hillsborough, Jefferson, Lafayette, Leon, Levy, Madison, Manatee, Marion, Nassau, Pasco, Pinellas, Putnam, Sarasota, Suwannee, Sumter, Taylor, Union, Volusia and Wakulla, with over 4,500 people currently in shelters as of today, August 30. The report further mentions that parts of Georgia also lost power, to the tune of 200,000 customers.
