Blue Supermoon in August

A supermoon occurs when the moon is at its closest point to Earth in its orbit, making it look larger and brighter than normal. Today, August 30 2023, a Bluemoon will be seen in the skies around the globe. This moon will not be blue (literally), just brighter.

This is reportedly a rare occurrence and according to the BBC, it was previously sighted in 2009. Incognito Blog reported about the first supermoon earlier in August, this is the second, and it has been seen in Nigeria as at 08:00pm UTC+1.
