The Notting Hill Carnival is an annual Caribbean event that holds around Kensington area in London, England. It is one of the biggest street carnivals globally, with over 2 million people in attendance from around the world. This event is led by the British Caribbean community and the history stems from a problematic time in England, in relations to race. Both time stamped events that led to the formation of the carnival were initiated by women (Activists and Feminist) in 1959 and 1966 respectively.
Notting Hill Carnival 2023 started on bank holiday August 27 2023 and also continues today August 28 2023. The event, as reported by BBC consists of a three-mile parade through W10 colorful parade showcasing the best of mas dancing, calypso, steel bands and music.
