Target Corporation is an American retail corporation with headquarters in Minnesota, USA. It is one of the largest American-owned private employers in the United States. As of 2023, Target operates 1,948 stores throughout the United States.
The retail store has recalled 2.2 million Threshold Glass Jar Candles due to breaking and cracking of the glass jar holding the candles. The candles which cost between $3 to $12 were sold online and at Target stores between February 2020 and July 2023.
According to CNN, Target has received 19 reports of Threshold candles breaking or cracking during use, resulting in one minor injury, and have warned customers to stop using the recalled candles immediately and process a return.
This is a second candle recall in recent times, as they reportedly recalled about 5 million candles in May due to similar defects.
