Pingyuan county in eastern China’s Shandong province experienced a magnitude 5.5 earthquake in the early hours of Sunday morning, causing infrastructural damages and injuries. The unfortunate event occurred around 2:33 a.m China time, with a depth of 10 kilometers.
According to CNN’s report, 21 people from the Liaocheng and Dezhou area sustained injuries from the rumble and the impact was even more pronounced, with 126 houses collapsing as a consequence of the seismic activity.
The report further mentions that emergency rescue teams have been dispatched to affected areas.
