Pakistan: 19 Killed in Train Accident

Pakistan, officially referred to as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is a country located in South Asia with a population exceeding 249.5 million people. It is the world’s fifth-most populous country and also boasts of having the largest Muslim population globally in 2023. The Islamic Republic is the 33rd largest country in the world in terms of area (881,913 square km) and the second largest in South Asia.

Pakistan shares its borders with several nations including India to the east, Afghanistan to the west, to the southwest, it is bordered by Iran, and to the northeast is China.

Tragedy in southern Pakistan as a train derailment claimed the lives of at least 19 people and left 50 others injured, according to BBC. The accident happened today August 6, near Sahara railway station in Nawabshah, where the Hazara Express suffered the mishap as several of its coaches overturned. The report further mentions that rescue efforts are ongoing.
