ChatGPT is the large language model-based chatbot developed by OpenAI. It launched in November 2022, and quickly became the fastest-growing consumer software application in history. The platform is built on GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 technologies and allows users to refine and steer human-like conversations.
It is available in a free tier with GPT-3.5, and a paid tier with GPT-4 and priority access to newer features. As of January 2023, ChatGPT has over 100 million users and has contributed to OpenAI’s valuation of $29 billion USD.
According to OpenAI, ChatGPT is now available on Android devices. The app was previously available on only iOS devices, but an Android version has now been released in USA, India, Bangladesh, and Brazil, with plans of further expansions soon.
The Android version of the application was released on July 25 2023, and will be available for free on the Google Play Store.
The availability of ChatGPT on Android devices is a milestone for the company and will allow more users experience the power of GPT-3.5/4 and the benefits of conversational AI.
