Microsoft’s $69 Billion Activision Blizzard Deal

Activision Blizzard Inc is an American video game holding company that was founded in July 2008, following a merger between Activision Inc and Vivendi Games. In the company’s game portfolio is the iconic Call of Duty franchise, known for its action-packed first-person shooter games. Alongside Call of Duty, Activision Blizzard’s roster includes others, such as Diablo and the addictive puzzle game Candy Crush Saga etc.

Following Microsoft’s $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard that was announced on twitter today July 16, Microsoft also announced that it agreed with Sony to ensure that Call of Duty will continue to be available on PlayStation consoles. PlayStation is a product of Sony, and they’re a direct competitor in the gaming industry.

With this acquisition, Microsoft is poised to become a key contender in the gaming market, and this collaboration with Sony signifies a commitment to providing a seamless experience for gamers worldwide regardless of the platform they choose.
