Mercedes Benz: MBUX introduces ChatGPT

Mercedes-Benz is a German automotive brand that specializes in luxury and commercial vehicles. Established in 1926, the brand has since acquired a top-shelf reputation for its exquisite craftsmanship, cutting-edge technology, and unmatched driving experience. In 2018, Mercedes-Benz was the premium vehicle brand globally, having sold 2.31 million passenger cars.

Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) is a multimedia infotainment system that is fitted into latest models of the Mercedes brand. The key highlight of MBUX is its voice control system, which allows drivers to interact with their vehicles in a natural manner. By simply saying “Hey Mercedes,” followed by a command, drivers can effortlessly access a wide range of features without taking their hands off the steering wheel or their eyes off the road.

According to CNN, Mercedes Benz will be adding ChatGPT to its MBUX enabled vehicles in the United States, starting today June 16 2023. The report states that by using the voice command “Hey Mercedes, I want to join the beta program”, customers will be able to test out the new conversational artificial intelligence assistant. With this addition, the system will be capable of responding to a wider range of requests, even those unrelated to the vehicle.
