The state of Odisha, formerly known as Orissa, is the eighth largest state in India, and with a population of over 46 million people, it stands as the eleventh most populous state. Unfortunately, the people of Odisha are not in the news for anything good today as multiple reports have cited that over 200 people were killed in a train accident, with almost 1000 others injured.
As rescue teams work tirelessly in a joint operation, CNN report says death toll is expected to rise further. Awful image from the scene depicts rescuers searching for survivors. Over 115 ambulances and multiple fire service units have been deployed to the site crash.
The entire nation stands united in grief and extends its heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families, while hoping for quick recovery for the injured.
