ChatGPT is Available in Italy Again

In today’s news, OpenAI announced that ChatGPT users in Italy can now access the software. This positive development comes 3 days after the new privacy feature release we wrote about here. Generative AI systems, like ChatGPT, have become increasingly popular in recent years. These systems use vast amounts of online data, such as digital books, blog posts, and other media, to generate text, images, and other content that mimics human work.

OpenAI’s successful meeting of the Italian data protection authority’s demands is a positive step forward in the ongoing efforts to regulate AI technology. The Italian data protection authority had demanded a list of conditions by April 30 2023 to have the ban lifted.

According to a report by the Associated Press, OpenAI announced via email that “they are thrilled to have their users in Italy back and are committed to safeguarding their privacy”.
