The Armed Forces Remembrance Day (AFRD), also known as Remembrance Day, is observed on January 15 to commemorate the servicemen and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces, as well as the end of the Nigerian Civil War.
The name was changed to Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day in 2024 to remind us of the values of unity, patriotism, and selflessness, and to celebrate serving members of the armed forces and remember our fallen heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
