Unilever Exits Russia, Sells Business In The Country

Unilever is a British multinational company and one of the largest consumer goods producers worldwide. It was founded in 1929, with its headquarters in London, England. The company has announced the sale of its Russian business to Arnest Group, a Russian manufacturer of perfume, cosmetics, and household products.

According to reports, the sale includes all of its business and four factories in Russia, as well as its business in Belarus. This comes after the company has faced criticism for continuing operations in Russia after the invasion of Ukraine two years ago.

The report further mentions that the terms of the transaction were not disclosed, as the work to exit the country has been very complex, involving the separation of IT platforms and supply chains, as well as changing brand names to Cyrillic (Russian alphabet).
