Texas and The Tropical Storm Beryl

Intense rainfall has struck parts of Texas, leading to reports of floods and severe damage to infrastructure, with over 2 million homes and businesses without power.

According to reports, Beryl, which was formerly a category 5 hurricane, made landfall in the Caribbean, leaving a destructive path while making its way towards Jamaica. It has now been weakened to a tropical storm after making landfall in Texas.

The report further mentions that residents were told to evacuate ahead of the storm as the government declared 120 counties disaster areas. Airlines canceled more than 1,300 flights. The storm also prompted closures of major oil shipping ports in Texas, as well as the evacuation of their personnel.
