Fisker Recalls 11,201 Vehicles

Fisker Inc. is an American automotive company that designs and manufactures electric vehicles. It was founded in 2016 and is headquartered in California.

According to reports, Fisker has issued 2 recalls for a total of 11,201 vehicles in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. The report mentions that the current Motor Control Unit and Vehicle Control Unit software may cause the vehicle to enter a safe state protection mode which can cause loss of motor power.

Affected vehicles include 6,864 units in the US, 4,056 units in the EU, and 281 Fisker Oceans SUVs in Canada.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the second recall affects vehicles that do not currently comply with certain Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) regarding gauges and telltale icons in the cluster display.

All affected vehicles will receive an over-the-air software update to fix the issue. Dealerships and partners have also been given a stop-sale order until the new software is installed. With notification letters scheduled to be sent in June 2024.
