Indonesia: Space X Launches Satellite Internet Service

The Republic of Indonesia, commonly referred to as Indonesia, is a country located in the Southeast Asia region, between the Pacific and Indian oceans. Indonesia is the largest archipelagic state in the world, with over 17,000 islands and more than 270 million residents.

According to reports, Elon Musk and the Indonesian health minister launched SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service on Sunday, May 20, 2024, at a community health center in Denpasar, Bali.

The report further mentions that Starlink was launched at 3 Indonesian health centers, one on the remote island of Aru in Maluku and 2 in Bali. This service aims to provide fast internet to Indonesia’s remote regions, offering affordable high-speed internet access in undeveloped regions.

This makes Indonesia the third country in Southeast Asia where Starlink will operate.
