Just like the title of this article reads – God provides for His children – that is the basis of today’s text and it stems from the splendid teaching at the service on Sunday. According to the Gospel of Luke, Jesus commands us not to worry about our lives, as God’s children, He will take care of everything.
It could sound insensitive if we tell a suffering or worrying brother/sister not to worry about something that is obviously bothering them. But the example Pastor P used yesterday hit the nail on the head – In the Bible, Jesus mentions that God looks after the birds in the sky, including a supposedly unclean bird, the raven, now why wouldn’t He take care of His children.
As we go about our lives, we spend a huge amount of time worrying about where to live, the type of house to buy, how to make more money, how to land a new job, how to find a life partner, what to eat, etc. These problems are valid but from my perception of the Gospel, we need to zoom out a little and look at life outside of our immediate worries.
We need to magnify God.
If you think about everything you have been through, surely you will be able to spot multiple times when things worked out on their own. This is to say, no one can change their situation by worrying about the things they cannot control. If you are reading this article and you are exploring the Christian faith, well, this is a summary of our faith in 2 short minutes.
