It is bordered by Peru, Bolivia, Argentina, and the Drake Passage. According to recent reports, devastating wildfires in various areas of Chile have led to significant damage to forests, homes, and vehicles, resulting in at least 112 fatalities.
About 372 residents were missing in the port city of Valparaíso, and nearly 1,400 houses have been destroyed by the fires. With over 40 fires currently burning across the region, emergency responders are working to evacuate those affected.
