According to the BBC, a gas carrying vehicle exploded in the Embakasi region of Nairobi and injured at least 271 people, with 3 confirmed fatalities. The initial report assumed the explosion was from a gas plant explosion but that assumption has been clarified. Several apartment buildings in the region were also affected as rescue operations continue.
